Being a customer of this business has ultimately been a poor experience. The owner will be prompt and courteous before he has your money, but afterwards will spurn you. We are aware of the possibility of additional charges that aren’t initially calculable, but that they might be up to $10,000 / 25% on top of the quote is important information that an experienced professional concerned with customer service might be expected to intimate to prospective customers. To hear from the owner afterward that concrete layers in Canberra “commonly” don’t lay concrete levelly is evidence we could have been made aware of the potential charges. Suddenly being called out of work and asked to decide immediately whether to pay thousands more for something necessary that the owner knew was “common” is a bad experience. This was not mentioned as a possibility to me when I asked about additional charges in the showroom. After the initial installation was completed, we identified issues including detaching trim, gaps that should have been filled and the stair nosing was deteriorating before our eyes, week-to-week. We waited weeks without even an acknowledgement of our emails and calls to the owner. After going to see the owner in-person we were rewarded only with empty promises that someone would come within some time. More weeks go by with our communication unanswered until we post a negative review then the owner suddenly is in the area the following morning and has time to attend to the issues we raised. The owner fixed some issues, but claimed the deteriorating nosing was not covered under warranty despite week-to-week deterioration. At our insistence, the owner nonetheless appeared to contact the manufacturer regarding the nosing. Less than a day later, the owner calls me concerned that I haven’t responded to his text message (a half hour earlier) about removing the review and doesn’t even want to wait till the evening. I simply don’t have time during the day to attend to reviews of someone who ignored me for weeks. It is difficult for me to believe this clear double standard is in support of customer service rather than preservation of his image. I expect that had we not posted the review we would be waiting forever. We contacted the manufacturer with additional photos of the problem on the same email the owner had used only to receive an ‘invalid email’ message from the server host. After we found and used what we thought would be the correct address, the owner replies and demands the manufacturer ignore these and future correspondence from us. The owner keeps insisting that since he only installs them, he isn’t responsible for the quality of the products (and contacted the manufacturer only as a courtesy), but a business is responsible for the quality of what they sell, regardless of whether they personally manufactured them. He also can’t gate-keep speaking with the manufacturer if we as consumers choose to contact them. Another business dealing with flooring repairs has advised they believe the damage is caused by the manufacturing process. Knowing that the stairs would begin falling apart from everyday use within a few weeks is certainly important information that wasn’t made known to us and doesn’t appear to meet the consumer guarantees under consumer law. We do not wear shoes inside and aren’t dragging furniture up and down the stairs every day; the owner claims the proof that it was due to dragging is that he can’t recreate a similar result by rubbing it with his hand, as if that is comparable to two people walking up and down the stairs throughout the day. We are dismayed by what was an initially promising experience. I wish I didn’t feel the need to post this review, but the owner has proven himself to be dishonest and concerned with customer service only at his own convenience.

Great quality flooring and customer focused service. After having no luck at a lot of different flooring stores I stopped by Concord to see if I liked any of their products. Sam showed me their laminate flooring range and I knew this was the flooring I had been looking for. I was installing the flooring myself and Sam spent a lot of time explaining the installation process. Sam even came by my place and helped me install first few rows after he had finished work for the day. What a legend. Highly recommend Concord Flooring!

Sam and his team did a fantastic job at our house, and we could not be happier! We visited the Concord showroom, which is comprehensively fitted out, and was met by the lovely Zara. We were sold after she explained that her husband, Sam and his team would be fitting the floorboards, not a sub-contractor. We did seek quotes from two other companies, and even though Concord was not the cheapest, we were sold on Sam and Zara’s professionalism and the fact that Sam and team would be installing the floor and there were no hidden costs associated with the installation. We really appreciated Sam’s honesty and he answered all our many questions regarding flooring. He also provided great advice on what type of flooring to install, as we have two dogs that live inside so we needed something that was hard wearing. The team installed flooring in our lounge, dining, hallway and two of our bedrooms. We are incredibly pleased with the high quality of the floorwork and efficiency as the job was completed in just 2 days. We were so pleased with the job done, that we recommended Concord to a friend who is also going to use Sam and the team to replace the flooring in their newly purchase apartment. I highly recommend Concord timber flooring Canberra. We visited a few different flooring stores but none had the great display of product like Concord Timbers showroom. Sam was thorough and gave us an honest recommendation of product which was suitable for us. Great product and Service. They arrived on the agreed date, the team works in a very tidy manner and cleaned after each days work, and finished ahead of schedule. We thank Sam and his team at Concord Timber for a job well done.
